Boston, October 15, 2018 -- Acadian Asset Management LLC, a leader in active global quantitative investing, with $98 billion assets under management as of September 30, 2018, today announced the hiring of Clifton Hill as Global Macro Portfolio Manager for the firm’s Multi-Asset Class Strategies platform (MACS). In this role, Mr. Hill will focus on portfolio positioning from a global macro perspective and the development of unique macro factors that drive markets.
“With almost 15 years of hands-on experience, Clifton’s analytical approach and cross-asset expertise brings a distinctive macro perspective to deepen Acadian’s multi-asset team and investment strategy,” said Ilya Figelman, Director of Multi-Asset Class Strategies and Senior Vice President at Acadian. “We are confident his insight will further enhance the firm’s commitment to a rigorous and systematic investment process within this asset class and help us better serve the needs of our clients.”
Launched earlier this year, MACS leverages Acadian’s expertise in systematic investing and risk assessment to provide clients with alternative and uncorrelated sources of return by investing across five major asset classes: Equities, Bonds, FX, Commodities, and Volatility. As client demand for outcome-oriented strategies continues to rise, MACS offers a diversified asset allocation approach and extends the firm’s expertise in applying a multi-factor systematic approach.
“I am thrilled to join such a talented group of people and continue to build upon the firm’s expertise in quantitatively managed equity and multi-asset strategies,” said Mr. Hill. “Successful multi-asset investing requires diverse thinking and teamwork, and I look forward to assisting an already strong team at Acadian.”
Mr. Hill joins Acadian from Torrey Pointe Capital, where he served as Global Macro Head of Strategy, Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager. From 2001 to 2015, Mr. Hill worked with Connecticut-based Tudor Investment Corporation, where he was responsible for Global Macro strategy and trading and research across major global asset classes, including foreign exchange, fixed income, equities and commodities.
Mr. Hill holds a B.A. in political science and government from Brown University. He is based in Acadian’s Boston, MA headquarters.
