Active Equity

Acadian’s active equity approach is the cornerstone of what we do, the anchor of what we do, and the anchor for our broader investment strategy. It’s central to Acadian’s innovation.

Acadian has always believed that the broader the opportunity set the greater the opportunity to add value. In 1992, we launched our Global strategy, which embodies that belief with access to the entire spectrum of listed equities globally. In addition, the strategy reflected the increased globalization of economic activity and had the potential to provide the greatest opportunity to exploit stock, country and sector effects in both developed and emerging markets.  This represented an important milestone as Acadian evolved from an international equity manager to a truly global manager.

Philosophy

We employ a fundamentally-based quantitative process that converts wide-ranging investment insights into forecasts. In building and monitoring client portfolios, Acadian applies a systematic portfolio construction process that takes into account a wide-range of data including proprietary internal risk modeling, data, return forecasts, and transaction cost estimates in an attempt to maximize portfolio returns for a given level of risk.  Our stock forecasts incorporate multi-factor analysis from both bottom-up and top-down perspectives. In addition, our approach is disciplined, regimented and systematic, with the goal of avoiding the cognitive and behavioral biases that many investors exhibit.
