Acadian Signs Boston 100 Percent Talent Compact

Acadian Asset Management, a leader in active global and international investing, today announced it has joined The Boston 100 Percent Talent Compact, a first-in-the-nation, business community-driven effort to level the playing field for working women.

By signing the 100 Percent Talent Compact, Acadian has joined forces with the Boston Women’s Workforce Council, a public-private partnership between the City of Boston, Boston University, and more than 220 Boston-area employers to close the gender wage gap.  As an expansion of Acadian’s longstanding commitment to pay equality, the company will collaborate with the Council and its membership on innovative strategies to address wage gap issues.  Acadian will also contribute to a city-wide database of wage information to help the community assess progress over time.

According to the Boston Women’s Workforce Council’s 2016 report, women who work in Greater Boston earn significantly less than their male colleagues, while women are the majority of both Boston’s residents and workforce. Acadian recognizes that this pay discrepancy poses consequences on finding and hiring the best talent and is committed to helping Boston’s women, companies and communities thrive.

“We’re thrilled to add our signature to the 100% Talent Compact in support of an initiative that Acadian has been focused on for many years,” said Ross Dowd, co-CEO at Acadian Asset Management. “We believe that helping an effort devoted to closing the wage gap for all women in the Boston area reinforces our own mission. Pay equality should be the foundation of any business.”

The Council’s mission is to work with the businesses in the Greater Boston area in a private-public endeavor to eliminate the gender wage gap, remove the visible and invisible barriers to women’s advancement, and ensure that 100% of the talent pool is used to make Boston the best area in the country for working women.
