Acadian seeks to foster a collegial, friendly work environment. With our focus on global financial markets and sophisticated quantitative models, the firm combines the broad perspective and intellectual rigor of a leading global financial organization with the relaxed atmosphere and creative mindset of a technology firm.
The management hierarchy is relatively flat, with most employees working in cooperative teams. The culture is fast-paced, with great emphasis placed on self-motivation. Many people who begin working in one area of the firm have had the freedom to explore and in some cases move into positions in other groups. Employees with good ideas will find broad leeway to pursue them. We have a strong record of promotion from within. The goal is an open, supportive environment where employees can find personal career growth while striving for excellence in investment performance and in our service to clients.
Teamwork and communication are fostered through group and company meetings, executive-hosted lunches and periodic social events throughout the year. There is an employee newsletter open to contributions from all employees, as well as a suggestion box program where employees may pose questions and suggestions to management on an ongoing basis. We maintain a business casual dress code.
Acadian prides itself on offering a highly attractive benefits package. It includes:
- Generous health insurance, including dental and vision care
- 20-day annual "leave bank" with further leave accrued by seniority
- Health club membership
- Life insurance
- Profit sharing and 401K plans
- Educational reimbursement
- Matching charitable gift program
Acadian is an equal-opportunity employer dedicated to fostering an organizational culture that promotes mutual respect, acceptance, tolerance and cooperation among all people including those different in age, gender, race, national or ethnic origin, physical abilities, religious beliefs and sexual orientation. Understanding and valuing diversity, we believe, will not only help our employees to develop and grow as individuals but will ultimately increase Acadian's ability to more effectively provide service to an increasingly diverse global client base.
Acadian has offices in Boston, Singapore and the U.K. The Boston office employs approximately 190 full- and part-time people, the Singapore office employs ten and our U.K. office employs three. Additionally, we have an affiliated office in Sydney, Australia (Acadian Asset Management [Australia] Limited) through our 50/50 joint venture with Colonial First State, which currently employs five people.
