Software Engineer, Quantitative Equity Research

Position Overview

As a member of our technology group, the Software Engineer will be responsible for the continuing design, development, support and maintenance of Acadian’s quantitative stock factor modeling process. The Software Engineer will also be required to work collaboratively with the members of the equity research team to develop and implement new forecasting processes and functions. This position will report to the Principal Engineer.

Responsibilities:

The position consists of quantitative research relating to investment strategies. Typical tasks include:

  • Support and enhance Acadian’s stock factor model back test platform.
  • Assist researchers and developers with the location and use of factor and forecast data.
  • Working with input from the equity research team, must be able to “productionize” new forecasting techniques in test and production environments.

Qualifications

  • Must have 5+ years prior experience designing and developing robust software solutions.
  • Results oriented and able to function with a low level of supervision.
  • Ability to quickly and independently learn and master financial and statistical concepts.
  • Excellent problem solver.
  • Good communication skills are a must to work collaboratively with groups other than IT.
  • Financial industry experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL.
  • C++, Matlab, C#, ASP.Net and ASP development experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Matlab preferred.
  • At a minimum, must have a BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or the Physical Sciences.
