Position Overview
As a member of our technology group, the Compliance Software Engineer will support Acadian's
Compliance function. The Software Engineer will be responsible for the continuing design,
development, support and maintenance of Acadian’s trade compliance process. The Software Engineer will also be required to work collaboratively with the members of the compliance and trading teams. This position will report to the Principal Software Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Support and enhance Acadian’s pre and post trade compliance process.
- Design, develop and maintain systematic processes around compliance and trading applications, in adherence with client guidelines and all relevant regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Must have 5+ years prior experience designing and developing robust software solutions.
- Financial industry experience preferred. Working knowledge of regulatory regime for clients subject to ERISA, Investment Company Act, other federal laws
- Previous experience with an automated portfolio compliance monitoring system (CRD, Latent Zero or Line Data) preferred. Demonstrated ability to turn compliance requirements into automated software processes.
- Results oriented and able to function with a low level of supervision.
- Ability to quickly and independently learn and master financial concepts.
- Excellent problem solver.
- Good communication skills are a must in order to work collaboratively with groups other than IT.
- Strong knowledge of SQL with prior exposure to large stored procedures is necessary.
- C++, C#/ASP.Net and VBScript/ASP development experience is highly desirable.
- Exposure to DTS and/or SSIS package development is a strong plus.
- Good understanding of formal software development life cycles and prior exposure to strict separation of software development. testing/qa and release management responsibilities is a strong plus.
- At a minimum, must have a BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or the Physical Sciences
